A very exciting hole to play, where risk can provide reward. This elevated tee box provides you the choice of clearing the ravine at the bottom if you are able to or else you will need to lay up for an extended approach shot. The trouble is, you have out-of-bounds on the right hand side and although the fairway has a lot of width, the wind direction will determine your plan of attach. Go into the water gully and you'll be lucky to make bogie. The wind will either work for you or against you. One of the many important decisions you'll make at Umkomaas Golf Club will be on this tee box.

If you laid up your shot, a wise move and although you have a longer club into the green, it's do able. Aim slightly left of the green, as the fairway runs from left to right. The green is guarded by 2 bunkers on either side, so it's best to let your ball run up to the green from the left hand side. If you have cleared the water gully, you now have a short iron/wedge into the green, whereby you can now attack the pin, provided you landed in the fairway of course.

The green runs slightly from front to back but evens out towards the middle and is guarded by left and right bunkers. Being in the middle of this green helps but doesn't guarantee a birdie. The green is tricky to read.
